Every month we like to take time out to catch up with one of our top Mascots to get to know a little more about what makes them tick. So, to kick things off we’re chatting with Ashleigh to discuss all the important things in life like wellington boots, superpowers and Will Smith…
What do you enjoy most about working in this industry?
I love the fact that no two days are the same! One day you’re getting all glam to work at Girls Day out Show and the next you’re pulling on wellington boots and up to your knees in mud at the Royal Highland Show.
What have you learnt about yourself since joining the wonderful world of promotions?
I am passionate about meeting new people. In the world of promotions you never know who you’ll be talking to next, which keeps the job so exciting. I’ve met celebrities, formed friendships with business owners and have lots of contacts in the industry on social media. I’ve learned I need to keep pushing myself to achieve my dreams.
What made you decide to apply to join the Mascot database?
When I saw a new agency starting in Scotland I jumped at the chance to apply as you never know what opportunities could arise, I see great things for Mascot in the future especially because they are based in Scotland and feel there’s great opportunities to develop with them as a company.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you?
I always find this kind of question tricky so I’ll let you in on a little something that may surprise a few of you... I’ve walked down the red carpet with Will Smith at a film premiere in London’s Leicester Square.
In what ways do you think promotional staff can help raise the profile of a brand?
By becoming the brand themselves. By that I mean well presented, professional at all times and a sound knowledge after all you are the face of the brand. You are the first contact in face to face promotions and that initial contact is crucial in raising the brand profile especially to those members of the public who may never have heard of the brand before.
If you could have one superpower what would it be?
Now this is tricky one... I’d love the power of time travel. Imagine being able to see what the future holds for you!
Now, time for a couple of quick fire questions…
